Price index
The Green Book, Central Government Guidance On Appraisal And Evaluation, Published by HM Treasury in 2018, defines the price index as: ‘…a standardised measure of price levels over time. General price indices cover a wide range of prices and include the GDP deflator, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) and the Retail Price Index (RPI). There are also separate price indices that apply to one commodity or type of commodity.’
